For the author R.R. Marion I created a book cover design for the first novel in the series Steen des Tijds. The image depicts a tower that is based upon the famous tower of Kilmacduagh in Ireland.
The second main visual element is a picture of Lucian, a young half elf, who is the lead character in the series.
Making a cover that wraps both front and back as a whole is something I prefer to do, so blending both visual elements into a fitting landscape was the main challenge, as well as creating a fitting visual atmosphere.
For the textual visuals a lot of time went into designing the banner on the front page which had to contain the Stone of life.
